Island Peak, locally known as Imja Tse (6,189m), stands proudly in the heart of the Everest region and is one of the best options for aspiring Himalayan climbers. This expedition is a combination of classic Everest Base Camp region trekking and an alpine climbing experience with glacier travel, fixed ropes, and stunning views from the summit.
The adventure begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a trek through Namche Bazaar, Phortse, Dingboche, and Chhukung. Multiple acclimatization hikes are built into the itinerary — including Nangkartshang Peak (5,120m) and Chhukung Ri (5,545m) — to prepare your body for the high altitude.
On Day 10, you’ll receive a climbing training session to review gear handling, rope techniques, and glacier safety before moving to Island Peak Base Camp (5,086m). Summit day starts before dawn, with a steep and rewarding climb to the top, offering a commanding view of Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, and the Imja Valley.
